Club membership is a great way to connect with a community of people who share an interest in obedience, agility, tracking, or who just want to improve their canine companion's quality of life through training. Membership is available by application for interested parties who meet membership requirements:

• Those taking their first class with Rio Grande Obedience Club are Associate Members. At the conclusion of the initial class, anyone wishing to continue membership shall submit an application form to the Club Secretary.  This application shall carry the endorsement of two members of the Club.
• Those who have completed the equivalent of a beginning-level class (e.g., training equivalent to the Good Manners class) and who are known to Club members may also apply for permanent membership, with the endorsement of two members of the Club.
  

The application will be published in the Club newsletter, The Barker Bits, and will be voted on at the next General Meeting after its publication. 

Two types of permanent membership are available:

• Active members, who may vote and hold office.  Active members are counted for a quorum at meetings, and commit to attending meetings and volunteering as workers when possible.
  
• Supporting members, who enjoy all privileges of membership except voting and holding office.  Those who cannot regularly attend meetings should choose this option. 
  

Members who pay Training Fees are entitled to attend the Monday Night Obedience Group Practice. Additionally, members who pay training fees receive a 50% discount on obedience & rally classes.

 Dues and Training Fees 
 

Annual Dues:

• $24.00 single membership ($12.00 Supporting)
  
• $36.00 family membership ($18.00 Supporting)
  

Dues are collected at time of application & then every October thereafter. (The dues for the first renewal are prorated based on the month the initial application is approved.)

Training Fees:

• $50.00 per year OR $ 7.00 per month single membership
  
• $70.00 per year OR $10.00 per month for family membership.
  

Training fees paid annually are due with membership dues. (The first renewal of training fees is prorated similarly to dues.) Monthly training fees are due on the first day of the month and expire on the last day of the month.
